In 2012 a good friend and colleague artist passed away.
His name is Cristian Ioan Dregan and his stage name was Cristinel dela Turda.
When he was little he lost the middle finger of his right hand and as every child in kindergarten draws a contour of his hand, so did he. That always stood out among the others children hands, so this became his signature.
He had a very playful way of drawing, but the topics he choose to encounter were very serious, although full of romanian humor.
His end came while he was finishing his master degree in graphics at the University of Arts and the Design Cluj-Napoca.
The good thing in university teachers soon understood, they shouldn’t mess with his style of drawing and way of doing thing, although this is a highly conservative academical kind of art university from Est Europe. So they left him be.
In his memory we, a number of his colleagues, have gathered to pay him a tribute by creating a virtual album with his works and created some artworks dedicated to him.
